STATES: Pass Common Sense Gun Reform Laws

As school shootings and other mass killings continue to escalate, it has become clear to the majority of Americans that our approach to gun policy and violence must change. While the federal government has failed to act, state governments can enact laws to provide common sense gun safety reform.

The majority of voters - Democrat, Republican, and Independent - support common sense gun safety policies such as restricting gun sales to people convicted of violent crimes and banning the sale of military-type guns and weapons. State legislators have the power to make significant advances in gun safety reform if elected representatives are willing to finally take a stand.

State representatives and governors need to hear directly from their constituents that gun safety is a top priority, and that now is the time to enact reform.
