Demand the Unfreezing of FEMA Funds and Restore BRIC

FEMA funds to at least 19 states are being withheld by the Trump administration since early February, in violation of court orders. The judge overseeing the case ruled that FEMA leadership appears to be implementing the Trump executive order to bar states with "sanctuary cities" from receiving federal funds.

Now, FEMA has announced the cancellation of the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities program, also known as BRIC. BRIC grants help local communities prepare for and protect against future disasters, and many projects at risk of losing funding are already underway.

Withholding FEMA funds as political punishment leaves Americans in harms' way. People currently affected by recent disasters are now at further risk. States no longer have the ability to prevent and prepare for future disasters.

Call your representative to demand the release of FEMA funds and reinstatement of the BRIC program.
